Spring success with the second round of Future Talent 4th May 2017
This April saw the second round of placements for students on our Future Talent programme, in partnership with SThree. Students were thrilled to meet their hosts in a range of industries, from digital marketing, to civil and environmental engineering.
Karina, a year 12 student studying at a sixth form college in Bexley, had a fantastic week with Salesforce. Karina studies Maths, Biology, Psychology & Media at A Level and is aiming for a career in business & finance . She gained valuable experience in the corporate environment and had this to say about her placement:
“The best thing about the placement was the atmosphere in the office and I’ll remember how welcoming and nice everyone was. Now I definitely want to work in the business world, it suits my personality and I think it will help me to become an entrepreneur in future. ”
Trung, a year 12 student from North London is aspiring towards a career in the technology sector. He spent his week with the marketing & sales team at Xactly, a company that creates technology to help businesses manage & incentivise their employees.
“I learned that career paths are not set in stone and there are many ways of working in technology. I also realised that networking is extremely important and it can take you further ahead compared to others.”
Once again students, supported by their host employers, presented to to senior employees at SThree, including Marie Broad, Head of CSR. They shared their learning and had the opportunity to reflect on what had been a very successful week.
“I think it was really nice for the team to have someone new in the office who was interested in what they did and who could help them with day to day tasks… The presentation session was particularly helpful and interesting to be a part of.”
Anna Calvert, EA and Office Manager , Xactly
